The badge of the UDR against a background of their stable belt colours. Formed in 1970 for security duties in Northern Ireland, this regiment had up to 11 Battalions and was the largest regiment in the army. In 1992 it was amalgamated with The Royal Irish Rangers, to form the home service battalions of The Royal Irish Regiment. These battalions have now been disbanded.
